Teacher Gifts - 2007

I have two daughters in elementary school (pre-school and first grade).
My wife asked if I could make some pens that she could use as teacher gifts this year.

Not wanting to just make some boring pens, I decided that now would be the perfect opportunity to try some new techniques. Aside from the new designs, I have also used a CA/BLO satin finish on each of the pens.

Here is the collection.

This pen uses a combination of Bloodwood and Red Leaf Soft Maple. There are two pens in the collection with this design,

This pen has Sapele as the base wood and the accents are Red Leaf Soft Maple. There is only one pen in the collection with this design.

Here are 10 of the 13 completed pens. The remaining three consisted of two more segmented Walnut and Maple pens and one Sapele with a Maple celtic knot. They have all now been gift wrapped and are ready for distribution.

This was a fun collection to work on. I tried a few new techniques including a new finishing process. I'm really happy with the results and hope each one is enjoyed.
